Children’s Hospital of Michigan
Since 1886, the Children's Hospital of Michigan (located in Southeast Michigan) has been dedicated to providing the highest quality care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient and family-centered environment. A proud member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC), the Children's Hospital of Michigan (CHM) is the first children's hospital in the state. This 228-bed facility has an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan. The Children's Hospital of Michigan engages in groundbreaking research that has long shaped the science of pediatric medicine. The hospital is ranked as one of America's best pediatric hospitals by U.S.News & World Report and Parent Magazine.
As an academic department, the Otolaryngology service at Children’s Hospital of Michigan enjoys academic affiliations with both Michigan State University and Wayne State university and is responsible for training residents from a variety of programs across the state. We generally have 4 ENT residents on service at all times. We are currently recruiting two physicians to add to our existing program that provides care to the entire metropolitan Detroit area. Non-tenured academic affiliation at the Assistant or Associate Professor level is expected.
Our department enjoys exclusive and fruitful collaboration with the full array of CHM pediatric specialists including audiology, speech pathology, cardiothoracic, plastic surgery, general surgery, pulmonology and gastroenterology. We have developed several multi-specialty pediatric ENT clinics including Pediatric Voice, Aerodigestive, Craniofacial and Skullbase. Further specialization and participation in these areas is greatly encouraged. As our hospital is a regional quaternary care referral center, at your start date, you will have a well rounded schedule full of both routine and complex patients. Our practice sites include our modern, urban hospital based clinic located in Midtown Detroit. You will also see patients at off-site suburban offices, each within 20 miles of the main campus. Surgical privileges and block time will be available at our main Children’s Hospital and our brand new, stand-alone outpatient surgery center in Troy, Michigan.
This is a full-time, DMC Medical Group employed position, joining three physicians and a fully staffed clinic that includes a Nurse Practitioner and two nurse clinicians.
Interested candidates must be BC/BE in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Fellowship Trained. New graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
