Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship Opportunity

We would like to announce an immediate first year fellowship opening at the pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) and the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This opening is the result of unforeseen fellow circumstances and will begin July 7, 2011.  
 
The pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at ACH has 4 full-time faculty, 2 part-time faculty, and a laboratory dedicated to the advancing our understanding and management of head and neck diseases in children. Since 1996, the fellowship has aimed to train pediatric otolaryngologists to be versatile in all surgical techniques and clinical challenges of the field. As a result, our fellows acquire knowledge and surgical experience with complex pediatric otologic disorders, sinus disease, facial plastics, airway anomalies and masses of the head and neck. This is complimented by a unique and vast surgical and multidisciplinary experience with cleft lip and palate disorders and vascular anomalies. Over 4000 cases are performed and over 10,000 clinic visits occur with our staff annually.

Organization

Children’s Surgical Associates Corp. is a 35 surgeon multispecialty group practice based at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. There are currently five Pediatric Otolaryngologists and three nurse practitioners who are members of the group.  Under the leadership of Dr. Richard Kang, ACGME has recently accredited a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship which will begin in 2011.
