- Clinic Responsibilities: Fellow clinic once a week. The fellow will participate in some multidisciplinary clinics including Down’s clinic, Cleft Palate Clinic, VPI clinic.
- Operative Experience: All aspects pediatric otolaryngology surgery including endoscopic and open airway cases, head and neck procedures, endoscopic sinus procedures, congenital disorders, otology including cochlear implants
- Resident Supervision: Yes, PGY-2 and PGY-3
- Case Load: Over 4,000 operative cases per year at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
- Benefits: PGY-6 salary and benefits (see www.childrensmercy.org , graduate medical education benefits and perks). The fellow will take back up call to the otolaryngology residents one time per week and one weekend per month, with attending back up. The fellow will have no holiday call.
- Additional Information: The fellow will participate in both fellow level conferences through CMH and departmental conferences at KUMC. There will be both medical student and resident teaching opportunities. There will be an opportunity for fellows to participate in a medical missions team during their fellow year.
