- Clinic Responsibilities: Airway Disorders Clinic, Voice Clinic, Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Rounds, Multidisciplinary Otology/Sensorineural Hearing Loss Clinic
- Operative Experience: All areas of pediatric otolaryngology including complex otology cases, cochlear implantation, head and neck surgery,airway endoscopy , laryngotracheal reconstruction , phonomicrosurgery, endoscopic sinus surgery.
- Large ICU/NICU population
- Research: Clinical research required; dedicated time available for basic research in 2nd optional year
- Resident Supervision: Active supervision of residents and medical students on inpatient and consult services; intra-operative resident teaching where appropriate.
- Case Load: The MEEI Pediatric ORL Service totals performs approximately 4500 surgical cases and sees approximately 9,000 outpatient visits annually
- Benefits; Medical, liability; two weeks vacation; one meeting attendance week plus stipend, PGY-6 salary.
- Additional Information: The current MEEI pediatric otolaryngology practice group consists of 4 full time physicians and the addition of 1 full time otologists with a special interest in pediatrics. The fellow is responsible for the inpatient and consult services, the latter involving the MassGeneral Hospital for Children, the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Shriners Burns Institute. At the MEEI there is interaction with both the largest multi-subspecialty adult ORL practice as well as the largest audiology and speech/language department in New England.
